Why you should support United,AGAIN.

Posted by ..| That Guy |.. on August 14, 2009

After all the hype about how Ronaldo  made the club richer, and how Sir Alex seems to be stuffing all the money down a deep dark hole somewhere (insert cartoon of old man with sack here), I still think we have a pretty good shot at the title this year. Why, you ask?

1. Owen seems to be looking good, and able to play more than one game in a month. And of course, there is no doubt about the fact that he is a good striker, when he’s not on the bench nursing one of his innumerable injuries.
2. Ronaldo replacement Antonio Valencia has given a good account of himself, and looks set to be able to meet right flank requirements.
3. Berba seems to be running a lot more than last year.
4. Giggs  seems to have another year of soccer up his sleeve (or wherever he gets all that energy from)
5. Rooney is still God.
6. Gibson and Carrick seem to be forming a good partnership in midfield.
7. Anderson hamanchester_united_7_1600x1200s scored.
8. Nani is still pissed at being left on the bench.
9. The kids -Tosic, Macheda, the Rafael twins, Evans, Cleverly (who’s that you ask?) seem to be well fed and in their nappies. They seem to be decent players, and ready to put in real strong contributions.
10. Liverpool will still shoot themselves in the foot, and Rafa will pull the trigger.
11. Arsenal is phhhbbbtt.
12. Chelsea is, well, Chelsea.
13. And We Are United, and we value the badge more than the player. Which Real Madrid doesnt seem to understand anyway.

Arguments are welcome!

Norton AntiVirus..SCAN THIS!

Posted by ..| That Guy |.. on August 13, 2009

Here’s the Big Dope. Virus Bulletin,a few days back, scanned 35 anti-virus systems from around the world. 11 FAILED.

Big Name,Big Surprise: SYMANTEC ENDPONT PROTECTION-NORTON ANTI-VIRUS.not

All major anti-virus like Kaspersky,Avira and AVG passed the test, when surprisingly in the failed list appeared Symantec. Although this post is not aimed at making Symantec and it’s products look defective, I have to say, that I’ve never been a big fan on Norton Anti-Virus simply because of it’s high levels of complication; the friendliness is always suspect and the amount of background CPU usage it eats up is very high.

Besides Norton,PCTools was another prominent name on the FAILED list.

Catch the rest of the story here——> See if your anti-virus passed.

Now that Michael Jackson is gone..

Posted by ..| That Guy |.. on June 26, 2009

So the “King of Pop” has passed away. The Internet is overflowing with articles related to him. And one of the main topics of discussion was- How come the media and everyone else who used to dig his every move, suddenly gain all that sympathy for him?

HYPOCRISY. The word has popped up more often than you can imagine. But here’s what I have to say. Don’t get me wrong, but human intellegence isn’t particularly on the higher side, but it’s very obvious that most people can hold two thoughts in their head simultaneously.

Those two thoughts being:

1. Michael Jackson was a creepy, surgery-addicted popstar with a possible attraction towards children, who let his grasp on fame slip away and ruin his entire life

and

2. Michael Jackson is one of the best musicians of all time.

No one ever forgot anything, and no one suddenly remembered anything. Both those statements are very true  and in light of his death, one is suddenly much more prominent than the other. Here’s something i read related to this post: Everyone only focused on how weird Michael Jackson was, while I only remembered him for his music. Shame on you latecomers to the MJ train!”

Dhoni does it again..and wins

Posted by ..| That Guy |.. on June 7, 2009

Another victory of the comfortable sorts, for India.Another victory for India’s “best captain ever”.

Often in the past, there have been players[read,"player"] who’ve been criticized on a regular basis for being too “selfish”,too “one-dimensional” and of course, the Indian media and population’s favourite phrase, too “SLOW”.In this context, crops up a question atleast 40% of the nation’s cricketers would love to ask- Where have Dhoni’s hitting abilities headed off to?

Walking in at no.3 when the conditions are heavily in favour of the batsmen, has become an absolute necessity in Dhoni’s head;or so it seems. We saw it in the IPL,we saw it in the warm-up games and again last night against Bangladesh.Much to the annoyance of anyone who’s watching,he replicated his typical no.3 innings..slowing things down.Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni

It is ironical that the media has nothing to say.Well,of course, they are spending time praising his “smart captaincy” and his “good bowling  changes” .Not to mention, his “ability to stay cool” under pressure. However good his captaincy and luck may portray him,it can’t be denied that had he batted for beyond the 16th over,India would have sure shot finished with not more than 160 on a Trent Bridge wicket where 180 is deemed a par score.

What adds to the fury is the fact that India’s most successful batsman over the past few months,Suresh Raina had his spot taken at the expense of an oversmart decision of trying to get in a left hand-right hand combo. What’s more, both Dhoni and Gambhir didn’t take a single risk during their partnership after a brilliant start provided by Rohit Sharma.Talk about momentum!

Dhoni’s strike-rate in International T20′s is a mere 105 runs per 100 balls. But that doesn’t matter to India does it? With his brand image and popularity,he could well get away with killing young careers..oh wait,he’s already gotten away with that.

Dhoni’s luck seems perpetual and whatever it may be,atleast India is pulling off victories. But i say this,at the risk of sounding like a sadist, that no matter what he has done in the past,or how much popularity commands, Dhoni needs to learn a lesson..one of actually being a team man.

[P.S:- If you have a problem with reading the truth about Dhoni, you have the option of leaving.]

Rajnikanth..IN WORDS

Posted by ..| That Guy |.. on June 5, 2009

There was this interesting “Rajnikanth” theme going on today. This is my contribution:

  • Rajnikanth doesn’t need a gun because he can reach the enemy faster
  • Rajnikanth won the Jaipur marathon. He started in rajini_super_starThiruvananthapuram.
  • Rajnikanth was delivered via C-Section. He performed it himself
  • Rajnikanth pops bubble wrap with his gun
  • Rajnikanth is not above the Law. He is the Law
  • When Rajnikanth wants ice, he makes it hail
  • Baby Rajnikanth didn’t eat mashed foods. He crushed his own apples
  • Rajnikanth never used braces. He straightened his teeth with his tongue
  • Rajnikanth uses a lawn mower to shave
  • Rajnikanth will tell you if the oven is hot enough by touching it
  • Rajnikanth doesn’t like to handle diamonds because he keeps accidentally crushing them
  • Rajnikanth can impregnate a woman on a long distance phone call :-P
  • When Rajnikanth wants a mobile phone, he carries around a cell tower
  • Rajnikanth doesn’t need a gun because he can throw the bullets faster
  • Snake bite is a common cause of death near Rajnikanth’ house. He bites a lot of snakes
  • * When Rajnikanth walks into a bar and says “The usual”, bartender shoots a bunch of people
